Here's how the first day of 2016 is expected to shape up, from coast to coast.
Atlantic Canada
- Maritimes: Snow is possible through Thursday night, clearing into the overnight and through Friday morning.
- Newfoundland: Snow squalls could bring up to 15 cm of snow through Friday.
Ontario and Quebec
- Ontario: Snow squalls are expected in southern Ontario, bringing up to 25 cm of snow to some places by Friday evening. Get the details here.
- Quebec: Scattered flurries and cloud cover is in Friday's forecast, with cold air arriving Sunday through Tuesday. On Monday, it's expected to feel like -20 in some places with the wind chill.
Western Canada
- Prairies: Cooler air will invade the Prairies, but temperatures will still remain above seasonal.
- British Columbia: Cool and clear conditions are expected across B.C. this weekend. Cloud and rain will return by next week.
