Monday, April 27, 2015, 4:22 PM - A quick-thinking firefighter in Louisiana was able to save several baby mallard ducks that were stuck in a storm drain Saturday.
Firefighters removed the top cover of the drain to see the ducklings -- but they stayed put.
The rescue crew was unable to capture the ducks, so firefighter Cody Knecht used a duck call ringtone saved on his phone to lure the ducklings to safety.

It took about half an hour to rescue six of them. Two more remained inside the drain, and it took crews a little more time and coaxing to get them out.
All of the babies were reunited with their mother.
A press release issued by St. Tammany Fire District #1 says this is the second duck rescue call in less than a week. On April 19, crews were called in to rescue a duck that had gotten stuck inside a chimney.
