Monday, November 10, 2014, 3:06 PM - Brazilian researchers have discovered a new species of bat-eating frog that they've named after iconic musician Ozzy Osbourne.
The frog -- which lives in trees and makes a high-pitched call similar to a bat's -- was found in the Brazilian Amazon by a team of researchers.
The team, led by Pedro Peloso, first found the frog in 2009 during a survey of a protected area of the rainforest.
They decided to name it Dendropsophus ozzyi, a nod to the frog's 'shrill' cry.

The sound the frog makes “led to us talking about being fans of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath,” Peloso told reporters.
Scientists say they knew they had come upon a new species as soon as they heard the amphibian's call, which was unlike anything they'd ever heard.
Osbourne's 30-year-old daughter Kelly was thrilled with the news:
You know you have made it when they name a whole new species of frog after you!!! Congratulations dad @OzzyOsbourne🐸 https://t.co/7ZExaKa1MK
