PHOTOS: Wind turns frozen sand and snow into strange little towers on the shore of Lake Michigan

Friday, February 20, 2015, 7:39 PM - Photographer Joshua Nowicki captured a stunning natural spectacle when out for a walk on the shores of Lake Michigan last weekend.
Countless tiny towers dotted the landscape of Michigan's Silver Beach County Park, some measuring as high as 30 centimetres.
The structures are the result of frigid temperatures causing the sand to harden and freeze combined with erosion from wind blowing off the lake.
According to Bored Panda, the towers didn't last long. After capturing images on Saturday and Sunday Nowicki returned to take more photos of the formations, but the snow had melted them.
