Snowboarder rescues horse stranded in snow

Monday, October 19, 2015, 12:36 PM - Most people out on the slopes would lend a hand to fellow travellers in distress -- even, it seems, if what reaches back is not a hand, but a hoof.
Rafael Pease intended to celebrate his 21st birthday with a snowboard jaunt in Chile (his post on Instagram seems to have been dated last month), but he had to take a detour when he happened upon a lone horse.
The snow, as you can see, is fresh, and the hapless equine seems to have got lost in the storm that dropped it.
Pease showed no hesitation in halting to help the horse, digging it out somewhat and feeding it, before leading it to safety. In an account on The Intertia, Pease says it was reunited with its owner, after being missing for four days.
"I have been through a lot in life, and through it all I have realized that it’s well worth it to watch out for others — whether they are human or not. And that’s what me and my riding partner did," he told the website.
His act of kindness has certainly garnered him a modicum of fame, with the video he shot being featured on GoPro's YouTube channel.
