Milky Way mixes with national parks to produce pure magic

Thursday, August 27, 2015, 6:44 PM - Astrophotographer Dave Lane has a portfolio that's out of this world.

He's been travelling across the U.S., taking breathtaking photos of the Milky Way above National Parks.

The photos are simply incredible. Billions of stars dance across the sky above some of the world's most famous landscapes.

Lane told Craters News Agency he aims to make his photo look like a "fantastic watercolour painting."

Lane, 58, started taking his Milky Way photos in 2011. He spends weeks taking shots of a chosen landscape, with a final product taking upwards of 40 hours to produce.

Prints of Lane's work can be purchased on his website, which is dedicated to "celebrating the night sky."
