Tuesday, September 23, 2014, 7:35 PM - When Angela Radtke of Texas saw a year-old infant locked inside a sweltering car she acted quickly, grabbing a tire iron and smashing through the vehicle's windshield -- despite warnings from security personnel on the scene.
"I don't care if I get arrested, I'm going to save this baby," she said at the scene, according to witnesses
Radtke then crawled through the broken glass to get the baby out of the car, which was in a parking lot of a grocery store. She sustained cuts from the glass in the process.

According to local media, surveillance footage shows the baby was locked in the car for nearly 40 minutes. Loudspeakers were used to locate the parents, but they did not return to the car until "some time" afterwards.
The young boy was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for dehydration. He will then be placed in the custody of Child Protective Service.
No charges were pressed against Radtke.
Police say the father "forgot" the baby was in the car. He has been charged with child endangerment.
