Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 7:30 AM - There were reports of a funnel cloud near Drummondville, Que., Tuesday amid an afternoon of severe weather warnings across Southern Quebec.

There were no reports of serious damage or injuries from the storm. Environment Canada investigated the area where there reports of a tornado, but found no tell-tale damage signs in the largely rural area of Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham, Que., about 10 kilometres north of Drummondville.

The storm did, however, produce strong winds, hail, rain and stunning images captured by local storm hunters and Weather Network viewers as ominous clouds swirled above Drummondville and surrounding areas.

The heightened risk came a day after strong storms left thousands of people without power in Quebec, and may have produced at least one tornado.

That's based on social media images making the rounds from the Maniwaki area, showing downed trees across a highway.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story indicated that Environment Canada was investigating for a possible tornado in the Drummondville, Que. That investigation happened Wednesday.
