VIDEO: Hypnotic clouds over Lincoln, Nebraska

Undulatus asperatus is a cloud formation that resembles ocean waves -- and while they may be ominous-looking, they tend to dissipate on their own, without a storm forming.
This type of cloud formation is usually seen in the Plains of the U.S. following storm activity.

This summer, YouTube user Alex Schueth was able to catch the spectacular formation as it moved through the skies above Lincoln Nebraska on July 7, 2014:
The end result is truly hypnotic, spurring a video that's racked up nearly a quarter-million views on YouTube.
Though not out of the ordinary, undulatus asperatus are relatively uncommon. It didn't become classified as a unique formation until 2009.
