The man perished after gusting winds pushed a tree onto his car, CNN reports. The young girl was struck by a falling branch while playing outdoors.
A woman from Surrey, B.C., was sent to the hospital in critical condition yesterday after she, too, was struck by a falling tree.
B.C. residents are still dealing with the aftermath of Saturday's violent winds. Nearly 500,000 residents lost electricity yesterday as power lines collapsed amid "B.C.'s worst storm since 2006."
As of 11:30 a.m. PDT, roughly 250 power line technicians were deployed across the Lower Mainland in power restoration efforts.
Approximately 180,000 residents remain without power as of 10 a.m. PDT.
