Watch what happens when lava meets ice

Wednesday, April 1, 2015, 2:30 PM - This video is a few years old, but it's enjoying a renewed popularity this week. Why? Because it's awesome, that's why.
The video, which already had 4.5 million views and counting, was picked up by the Science Channel a couple of weeks ago, contributing to its new-found popularity.
Researchers originally thought the lava would melt a hole right through the ice, causing it to evaporate.
Instead, it creates spectacular ice bubbles that resemble what the UK Mirror is calling 'scrambled eggs from hell'.
But the research isn't all fun and games: Hundreds of volcanoes are capped with ice, so it's important to study how the two elements interact.
