If you plan on going camping, here's a good reason to lock your car doors.

It's always a good idea to lock your car doors, especially if there are bears in the area.

That's the lesson a Colorado car owner had to learn the hard way.

On July 4th, a bear stumbled into his unlocked car and entered the vehicle through the driver's side, CNN reports.

Once inside, the door closed and the bear apparently shifted the car into neutral, which sent it rolling down a hill where it crashed into a tree.

The car was totaled in the incident.

The impact of the crash caused the doors to open, and the bear fled the scene.
