Hungry bears roaming for food may find your bird feeder appealing
Putting out a bird feeder in your yard is an excellent way to attract beautiful wildlife this spring, but beware; this includes those that may not be so people—or pet—friendly.
After a long hibernation in the winter, bears will be out in full force in the spring looking for food, so your bird feeder could inadvertently draw them to your yard.

"In order to feed your birds safely, you have to think a little outside of the box," says The Weather Network reporter Mia Gordon.

Seeds left on the ground could be an open invitation for smaller wildlife to invade your yard, including racoons, skunks, or rats, and in turn, they become the prey and may draw larger predators such as bears to your property.
