Phoenix, Arizona was pummeled with hail, causing billions of dollars in damage and contractor disputes.

On October 5, 2010, Phoenix, Arizona was blasted by a hailstorm with some stones reaching 2 inches in diameter.

The hail dented cars, broke windows, and shredded roofs. The tallied cost of all the damage was almost $3 billion. Because there was such extensive damage to insured property, Arizona topped the 2010 list of states with the most insured-property losses.

Insurance companies sent adjusters to ensure that claims were accurate while home and business owners scurried to book contractors.

Tensions rose among the people making the insurance claims, the people working for the insurance companies, and the contractors who were physically fixing the damages.
