A period of unseasonably high temperatures will continue into the weekend.

When: Now through Sunday.

Where: Dawson, Mayo and Pelly - Carmacks regions.

Remarks: A weak upper ridge of high pressure remains over central Yukon this week. This brings daytime maximum temperatures of about 5 degrees Celsius above seasonal normals for this time of year. There may be some brief relief in the afternoons as a chance of showers or thunderstorms exists for most days.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and seek cool places if necessary.
