Recommended Action
Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stayindoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop invisibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowingsand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as faras possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all theway off and keep foot off the brake pedal. Remember, 'Pull Aside,Stay Alive'.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Whenpossible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning orevening. AQAPSRThe Pinal County Department of Air Quality has issued a PM-10 HighPollution Advisory for Pinal County including Apache Junction, CasaGrande, Coolidge, and Florence on Thursday.An episode of strong and gusty winds is forecast to generatewidespread blowing dust that may result in local PM-10 concentrationsthat pose a health risk. Adverse health effects increase as airquality deteriorates.Coarse particulate matter - also known as PM-10 - is an aircontaminant that can aggravate heart and lung disease conditions,especially in older adults, children, and those with asthma.
