Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take frequent breaks in shaded or air conditionedenvironments. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustionand heat stroke.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to the lower 100s.* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, andcentral, northern, southern, and western West Virginia.* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday.* IMPACTS...High temperatures and humidity may cause heat illnesses.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat stress increases with the number ofconsecutive hot days. While heat indices may be slightly lowerthis afternoon, values will rise a bit on Thursday, and a bitfurther on Friday.
