Tips from a professional nature photographer
Mia Gordon talks to Steve Gordon, a professional photographer whose work has appeared in National Geographic, the Art Gallery of Victoria and Weather Network commercials.
He shares some tips on how to get the perfect photograph.
For starters, lighting is key. Gordon says the best times are at dawn and dusk.
And when it comes to shooting wildlife, "have your camera and your settings ready," he says. "Because when it happens, it happens, and it's never going to repeat."
Gordon says he's hoping his photography helps spread an important message.
Steve hopes his art inspires change and a desire to protect the natural beauty the world has to offer.
He also tries to give back.
Right now, a portion of his sales go towards the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project, in hopes of helping the resident killer whales he loves to photograph.
