Alberta team captures the essence of the northern lights

Candid Closeup is a weekly segment that features Canadians from coast to coast who love to share their weather. In this episode, The Weather Network's Kim MacDonald had the opportunity to speak with Theresa and Darlene Tanner about their gift of snapping the perfect moment with the northern lights.

Theresa and Darlene Tanner have made a name for themselves by capturing the aurora borealis and sharing it with the world.

Living in Alix, Alta., the couple rarely have to go far to see the spectacular northern lights, but they’ve travelled as far as Iceland in their quest for that perfect shot.

In this edition of Candid Closeup, Team Tanner explains its love for photography, Mother Nature and the special meaning behind the auroras for the Cree community of northern Alberta.
