What warmer temperatures mean for COVID, variants, & post-vaccination behaviour

Canadians are facing another summer in the Covid-19 pandemic. As we enter the season a second time around, decision-makers have more knowledge and understanding of the virus.

Compared to last spring, the public is much more educated about how they can better protect themselves from possible COVID-19 infection. However, the experts want Canadians to know that warm air is not going to eliminate the risk of illness.

In Health and Weather Extended, Rachel Schoutsen chats with infection control epidemiologist and University of Toronto professor Colin Furness as well as infectious disease specialist Vanessa Meier-Stephenson to discuss vaccines and variants as we go into the warmest time of the year.

The group chats about some of the riskier events that many Canadians deem as safe and the experts weigh in on what the public should reconsider in light of our understanding of the new variants.
