Visiting New Brunswick? We've found your best tour guides

If you watch The Weather Network regularly, you've likely seen their spectacular work.

If you watch The Weather Network regularly, you probably recognize the My New Brunswick logo branded on many of the videos coming out of Fredericton and Grand Manan.

I ventured out to the small island to find out who was at the other end so much wonderful content being sent our way from the picture province.

After getting off the ferry, it only took about three minutes to drive to their trailer set up at the North Head campground. Inside was the headquarters for My New Brunswick, a website that's been promoting tourism around the province for seven years now.

"We've had over five million visitors from all over the world who want to know about New Brunswick," Larry Dickenson tells me.

The now-retired radio broadcaster and partner, Steve Rogers, criss-cross the province snapping photos and videos and post them along with little tidbits of history from places you may not normally think to visit.

I personally always wanted to visit Grand Manan to go on a puffin tour, but Larry directed me to the unique hole in the wall rock formation, and said I just had to watch a sunset from the cliffs at Southern Head. He was right.

"We go into an area after we've researched [it] and know what there is there," explains Larry. "Then we'll contact a campground, usually, almost every time I think, we've been given a free week camping and we'll make that our headquarters for the week and then we travel to all the areas around that area and take photos of historic properties and research it."

He says on social media, with Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, they have over 35,000 people that are interested in the province of New Brunswick.

"And that's been our goal is to try to get people to learn about New Brunswick and come and stay and visit with us."

Larry and Steve recently made the move from Fredericton to Grand Manan after falling in love with the island.
