Watch a baby moose grow over the summer
Thank you Jimmy Short for capturing the adorable by setting up a camera around your neck of the woods.
Short lives in Corner Brook, an area in western Newfoundland. He checks on his camera every two weeks and shares the fruits of his labour with his social network.
On June 21 and 27th, 2020, Short took a peek at the footage, and jackpot; a baby moose. The calf is joined by his mom. Almost a month later, on July 20th, the two can be seen again, and the adorable baby has grown so much.
According to Newfoundland's Department of Fisheries and Land resources, in the summer moose eat 50 to 60 pounds of shrubs and leaves a day. They particularly like the leaves of birch and maple, as well as water plants.
In North America, the moose is the largest member of the deer family and there are approximately 120,000 moose in Newfoundland alone.
