Tlingit artist uses 15,400 snowshoe steps to create epic raven installation

Megan Jensen created the art installation in honour of Tlingit storytelling

After months of darkness, winter has finally come to an end and the Sun is beginning to light up the Yukon skies — and what better way to celebrate the change of the season than by honouring the Tlingit creation story of how a raven brought light to the world.

Tlingit artist Megan Jensen masterfully used over 15,000 snowshoe steps to create a beautiful image of a raven in the snow as part of a new short film for Yukon Tourism. Mia Gordon, a reporter with The Weather Network, recently had the chance to speak to Megan to find out more about the incredible project — her largest art installation to date.
