Northern Lights put on magnificent display across Canada (WOW!)

A strong G3 geomagnetic storm ignited the light show of the season, as aurora borealis filled the night sky.

Active auroras were spotted throughout western Canada March 30, courtesy of a G3 geomagnetic storm.

Social media was lit ablaze with photos and videos of the spectacular event, with hues of green and red flashing across the sky.

The geomagnetic storm was on the strong side - meaning northern lights should have been visible as far south as Washington state, Toronto, Ont., and parts of Atlantic Canada, but cloud cover in the east meant only the western portion of Canada were able to see the show.
