How to cut your air conditioning bill in half with radiant cooling

Researchers, including scientists from UBC, have developed a method that will not only consume less energy, it will also cut down indoor virus transmission.

Now that spring temperatures are on the rise, it won't be long before Canadians have to turn on their air conditioning –– with the drawbacks that go with it.

Aside from the energy drain, an additional thing to think about is indoor transmission of viruses like COVID-19 through vents.

One potential solution: using a system of chilled air panels to cool homes which, according to new research, would not only cut heating costs, but also reduce the risk of getting sick.
