Severe storms sweep through eastern Ontario, some damage reported
Isolated thunderstorms joined forces on Tuesday as they swept through parts of eastern Ontario, resulting reports of damage in the Cornwall area early Tuesday afternoon.
We're in the home stretch of July now and these final days will be marked with some humid and unsettled weather across southern Ontario. That's as a cold front makes its way through on Tuesday, sparking thunderstorms across parts of the region and sending temperatures back to more seasonal values for the start of August. We take a look at the storm threat and biggest risk areas on Tuesday, plus a sneak peek at a glorious August long weekend shaping up, below.

Isolated thunderstorms joined forces on Tuesday as they swept through parts of eastern Ontario, resulting reports of damage in the Cornwall area early Tuesday afternoon.
This was ahead of an active cold front, moving slowly toward the Lower Great Lakes; a feature set to string spotty storms through parts of the region through the late afternoon and evening, including Niagara and parts of the GTA.

Heavy rain and strong winds will be the biggest threats associated with the thunderstorms.
HEAT WARNINGS DROP, GORGEOUS SUMMER WEATHER RETURNS
The widespread heat warnings that kicked off this final week of July have ended as the cold front helps to cut back on the humidity as it ushers in some drier air from northern Ontario.
Temperatures across the board are expected to be right around the seasonal mark of 27°C as we head into the new month of August on Wednesday. Abundant sunshine and lower humidity will also make for some ideal summer days heading into the upcoming August long weekend.
