The meteorological beginning to summer kicked off with a bang Saturday afternoon

A wild start to June as severe thunderstorms fired up across the southwestern parts of the province Saturday, prompting numerous warnings and watches, including a brief tornado warning in the Windsor area.

WATCH BELOW: RADAR OF TORNADO-WARNED STORM IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO

A tornado warning was briefly issued for Windsor,Leamington and Essex County Saturday afternoon as a dangerous thunderstorm, located nine kilometres east of Colchester, moved through. It was dropped around 3:47 p.m.

STORMY START TO JUNE

People in these areas immediately took to social media to post their pictures and videos of the severe weather, which included strong wind gusts, frequent lightning, small hail, heavy rainfall and ominous shelf clouds.
