3.2 magnitude earthquake hits west of Val-d'Or, Que., tremor strongly felt

Earth shook this morning near Val-d'Or in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec
At 6:39 a.m. Tuesday morning, a 3.2 magnitude earthquake shook the area surrounding Val-d'Or in western Québec. Several residents in the region felt the strong tremor.
Though the magnitude of the earthquake was not very high, the epicentre was located just 2 km underground. As the region has several mines, any earthquake must be taken seriously.

According to Earthquakes Canada, there was no damage as a result of the earthquake and none was to be expected.
