Dodger Stadium is located in the Elysian Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California. The stadium is home to Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers.

The stadium opened on Apr. 10, 1962, and only had its first rain delay on Apr. 21, 1967. Because the area has dry summers, the stadium has only had 17 rain delays to date.

The summers in LA are so dry that it's not rare for lightning and wind to ignite a wildfire. The area is much more well known for drought than a triple-rainout situation. Most residents were likely extremely thankful for the rain, but baseball fans might have had some conflicting feelings.

Out of the 17 rainouts, six have been against San Diego, nine have been in April, and three of them were between Apr. 19 and Apr. 21, 1988.

Danny Heep, of the Dodgers, leaned into the rain mania and walked onto the field wearing a snorkel, flippers, and carrying a kickboard.

That season, the Los Angeles Dodgers went on to win the World Series 4 games to 1 over the Oakland Athletics. The first two games were played at Dodger stadium. The Dodgers won the best-of-seven playoff series on the road in Oakland Coliseum.

Dodger Stadium's longest streak without a rainout lasted 18 years, from Apr. 17, 2000, to 2018. That amounts to 1,471 consecutive rainout-less games.
