50 vehicle pile up on Quebec highway, trucks lose control

Highway 40 at Fossambault-sur-le-Lac, near Quebec City, is closed westbound after two semi-trailers lost control on the road, which resulted in a pile up of at least 50 vehicles, according to TVA Nouvelles.

At the time of the crash there was falling snow and blowing winds, but officials have not yet stated that weather was a contributing factor.

Vehicles are being redirected to take a detour through Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, and officials will provide further details about reopening this section of the highway when the investigation closes.
