Wednesday, November 4, 2015, 10:32 AM - England is widely known for its often wet and cloudy weather, but since the beginning of the week many have witnessed something slightly different.
An eerie blanket of thick fog cloaked the capital city early Monday, creating a chilling, horror-film-like atmosphere through the streets and suburbs of London.
This type of dense fog is known as radiation fog, says Weather Network UK's digital news editor Jamil Hussein.
"High pressure is bringing very settled conditions and light winds to many parts of the UK," Hussein notes. "As the temperature dips overnight, condensation takes place and the fog forms. And with light winds, there is nothing to disperse the fog.
