Thursday, September 22, 2016, 12:47 PM - While the days grow shorter and temperatures continue to drop, bears are busy foraging for food as they prepare for hibernation and if they are bold enough, you may catch one venturing into city limits.
This was the case in Anchorage, Alaska last Thursday. Local police received a call about a four-legged suspect around 6 p.m. local time, but little did they know the bear was about to lead them on a two hour chase through the downtown core.
While some residents were alarmed, fortunately no one was injured. The entire escapade was captured on video and uploaded to Facebook by the Anchorage Police Department, where it has been viewed over 1 million times.

"Sometimes it can be extremely difficult to catch an eluding suspect... especially when they are wild, unpredictable and have four feet," the department posted on the social media site. "Police would like to remind folks to keep as much distance as possible between yourself and wildlife during a rare encounter like this."
After wandering down sidewalks, across lanes of traffic and trotting behind a Pizza Hut, the animal was apprehended around 8 p.m. at a local cemetery by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
The bear has since been relocated.
