Deadly collision closes Ontario highway
Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 7:55 AM - Highway 400 had to be closed down last night after a fatal collision took place just north of highway 88.
Tuesday evening, Ontario Provincial Police tweeted that an accident had occurred and that a sedan and a transport truck had collided on the left side of the road. Emergency vehicles were on the scene shortly after.
By 8 p.m. the highway had been closed.

The male driver of the vehicle was pronounce dead at the scene. Police say that weather could have been a factor in the accident as the area was experiencing reduced visibility

Environment Canada had placed much of the region under a snow squall warning earlier in the day.
The bad weather continues today with whiteout conditions forcing Barrie officials to cancel much of the community events.
For the Greater Toronto Area, messy weather is expected to hit just in time for the evening commute.
