Donkey rescued from a manhole in Switzerland

Tuesday, November 4, 2014, 5:49 PM - Nilo, a 13 year-old donkey in Switzerland, recently found himself in a bit of trouble.
Firefighters were called in to rescue the animal after he got stuck in a manhole, local media reports.
He fell into the uncovered hole on a playground on Saturday. Passerby Bruno Schneider noticed the distressed animal and contacted the authorities.

A team of firefighters was needed to lift the donkey to safety. Witnesses say his back legs had gotten stuck in some piping.
Nilo suffered a few superficial wounds which were treated at the site. He was agitated, but largely unharmed.
Nilo was then safely returned to his home in a petting zoo.
Meanwhile, authorities say they're investigating why the manhole was left uncovered.
