Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 10:37 AM - The European Union has published the results of a survey about ending Daylight Saving Time, and it turns out the vast majority of Europeans are in favour of abolishing it.
The online questionnaire was live from July 4 to August 16, 2018.
Of the 4.6 million respondents from all 28 member states, 84 per cent voted in favour of ending the twice-yearly time change.

About 76 per cent of the respondents added they find the time change to be a "very negative" or "negative" experience, citing health impacts, lack of energy and an increase in car accidents.
“We carried out a survey, millions responded and believe that in future, summer time should be year-round, and that’s what will happen,” EU commission president Jean-Claude Juncker told Germany’s ZDF.

The European Commission will have the final say on whether or not the time change comes to an end. The final results will be published in the coming weeks and a proposal may be put forward to end Daylight Saving Time.
