Man uses homemade Millennium Falcon drone to clear snow

Cheryl Santa Maria
Digital Reporter

Thursday, January 21, 2016, 9:08 PM - When the force didn't work, Ian Fisher of Brampton, Ont. tried the next best thing: He used a homemade Millennium Falcon to clear the snow from his walkway.

"Built the Millennium Falcon drone from scratch and decided I could use it to clear the snow from my walkway," Fisher said when he uploaded his video to theweathernetwork.com.

"I tried previously to use the force but this method is a lot easier."

Here at The Weather Network, we have a lot of Star Wars fans on staff -- most notably Scott Sutherland, our digital meteorologist and science writer.

It turns out some of our viewers are Star Wars fans as well.

A quick search of our Weather Network photo gallery came up with some interesting results. It appears as though our audience sees references to the film in just about everything.

Case in point:

This BBQ that looks like Darth Vader, according to Catherine Cummins of Shuniah, Ont.

This wasp's nest that looks like Chewbacca, according to Norman of Lisle, Ont.

This tree fungus that looks like ... something? We can't decide if it looks more like Jabba the Hutt or a Storm Trooper's helmet, and neither can our Facebook audience. Submitted by Ron Bortolon of Thunder Bay, Ont.

This icy scene that looks like a rancor, according to Daniel Wilson of Jordan, Ont.

This Chewbacca-like dog, submitted by Olena R. of Brampton, Ont.
