TEA CUP size hail is a thing, and does a lot of damage

Wednesday, June 20, 2018, 8:05 PM - Severe storms swept through eastern Colorado on Tuesday afternoon, as massive hail battered buildings, cars, and gardens. Numerous tornado warnings were issued through the afternoon, as giant supercell thunderstorms rolled down from the Front Range and spilled out toward the Plains. Tornado warnings were still being issued into the early evening hours, as long-lived thunderstorms persisted through the eastern part of the state.

SOUND ON: What baseball-sized hail sounds like on the roof
The National Weather Service received reports of hail as big as tea cups - that's 3 inches, or 7.5 cm in diameter - from a Denver suburb as the storms moved through the region, with numerous other reports of baseball-sized hail. Snow removal equipment was deployed through the Denver area to clear roads of 'hail drifts' before the evening rush hour. At one point, a funnel cloud was even visible from a Denver International Airport webcam.
Coloradans quickly took to social media with pictures of giant hail, damaged vehicles, and even funnel clouds as storms progressed through the afternoon. At least three tornadoes were reported through the afternoon in Wyoming and Colorado.
