Thursday, January 8, 2015, 3:30 PM - An asteroid entered the Earth's atmosphere Wednesday creating a bright flash that illuminated the night sky over parts of Romania, including the City of Bucharest.

While the flash of light only lasted a few seconds, witnesses told local media it was strong enough to wake them up.

Experts told reporters that the meteor was likely small -- probably a few centimeters in width.
