EARTHQUAKES IN ALBERTA
Rogers says it's not very common for Banff to have an earthquake. According to the Alberta Geological Survey, most of the earthquakes that occur in Alberta are very small.
"These earthquakes are usually less than 3 local magnitude (ML)," says the agency. "Although these earthquakes usually go unnoticed by Albertans, it is important that we are aware of and can document them."
