Amateur video shows the incredible moments when the ground gave way in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday causing part of a city street to collapse.

It sent at least 10 cars down a steep bank onto railroad tracks.

No injuries were reported, but this video shows it was a terrifying sight for everyone around.

The street collapse happened Wednesday after hours of heavy rain pounded the city.

Crews are now starting to remove the rubble and cars from the site.

"The sidewalk's gone, the cars are gone, and everything just fell. It was like somebody came by and just ripped off the side of the road," said one resident who described the scene.

Some homes nearby were evacuated so investigators could asses the area's stability.

Officials don't know when the road will be reopened or when residents of the area can return home.

Since Sunday, at least 38 people have died as a result of the tornadoes, flooding, wind and rain wreaking havoc on the U.S.
