Saturday, July 4, 2015, 10:35 AM - Many in Western Europe are bracing for yet another wave of scorching temperatures.

The hot weather comes as another heatwave makes its way across the continent, starting with Spain on Friday and spreading through France, Italy, Germany, and on to eastern Europe, lasting nine days.

On Tuesday, June 30 temperatures rose to 34.2 C in Paris, and on Wednesday, July 1 London's temperature reached 36.7 C, marking the the hottest recorded July day for London.

According to CTV News, French forecaster Meteo France reports that the temperature in Paris reached 39.7 C Wednesday, marking the highest recorded temperature in July since 1947, and the second-highest temperature recorded since 1873.

The heatwave continues to be a cause for worry, especially after France's deadly heatwave in 2003, which claimed thousands of lives. Temperatures are expected to reach more than 40 C this week.

This time around, residents are slightly more prepared for the sweltering temperatures. Here are six ways Parisians are coping with the heat.

1. Staying hydrated

2. Dressing down

3. Using shelter from the sun

4. Splashing around

5. Relaxing under natural shade

6. Going for a swim, wherever possible
