A 37-year-old Spanish physicist turned ice cream master Manuel Linares has invented an ice cream that changes colour when you lick it.
With the assistance of his colleagues, Linares created the delectable treat that changes from blue to pink to purple when you eat it.
While the formula is a patent-pending secret, he claims its entirely made using all-natural, dairy-free ingredients. He calls it Xamaleón.
Linares -- who invented the ice cream as his master thesis -- sprays what he calls "love elixir" on the ice cream before it's served to boost chemical reactions brought about by changes in temperature to intensify the colour-changing properties of the dessert.
The ice cream he created, which he says tastes like tutti-frutti, includes strawberries, cocoa, almonds, banana, pistachio, vanilla and caramel. It is being sold at IceXperience, an ice cream shop he's opened in Blanes, Spain.
The scientist is now working on two other ice cream concoctions -- one that reacts to the ultraviolet lights in clubs and another one that turns from completely white to pink on its own.
