Biggest wedding in the world's weather: Royal update here

Friday, May 18, 2018, 11:30 AM - When Royals get married, the whole world watches. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to tie the knot on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle in England.
With less than 24 hours until they say their "I Do's", the detail everyone (obviously) wants to know: The weather!

As we look ahead to Saturday afternoon, the current forecast shows temperatures reaching near 20°C and mainly sunny skies expected throughout the day in Windsor, England. Things may feel a bit cooler at times with a brisk northerly wind at 10 to 15 km/h.

For the thousands expected to tune into the Royal Wedding, widespread favourable weather conditions are likely here at home. That's aside from a few blips of unsettled weather, but it's nothing that should keep you from making it to your local viewing parties.

“The weather can actually work to your advantage when it comes to creating great wedding photos.” Alison McGill, Editor-in-Chief of Weddingbells, told The Weather Network. “A perfect sunny day doesn’t always mean picture perfect moments. A little grey sky can create the perfect photo backdrop.” she adds.
In reality, there is never a bad time of year to get married, as long as you’re ok with whatever the season throws at you.

At this time of year, it was most likely a day with overcast conditions and cooler temperatures. McGill notes that grey skies in fall can translate into incredible wedding photos.
“It’s the start of cozy season, incorporating warm autumnal tones into your décor is a great way to bring the best of the season into your wedding day.”

Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer got married July 29, 1981, at St. Paul Cathedral in London.
This was a widely televised event, so we were all able to see the sun shining down on the Royals. The one thing you must remember when getting married in the middle of the summer is the heat. Are you comfortable in the heat? This will make an impact on the type of dress you pick and the material it’s made of.

What started off as overcast cleared into a beautiful spring afternoon, giving the proper lighting when needed.
“Spring weddings in Canada can be tricky…we experience great temperature highs and lows. Flowers can be blooming in one part of the country while it’s snowing in another.” says McGill. When picking your flowers, make sure you’re picking the ones that are in season.
Regardless of the season you get married in, always have a Plan B. You can plan for almost every single detail of your wedding day, but the one thing you can’t plan for is the weather. McGill adds that “for outdoor celebrations have a back up plan in case the weather takes a turn… this will help you avoid day-of stress!”
