Sunday, March 20, 2016, 5:07 PM - Just days after the first of two baby bald eagles made its world debut, its nest companion hatched at the U.S. National Arboretum.

The first eaglet started to "pip" (poke its way through its shell) at around 7:30 pm on March 16, ABC news reports. It emerged 36 hours later.

The second began to hatch on March 19, emerging at 3 a.m. the following day.

Viewers around the world were able to watch the event on high definition "nest cams" streamed online by the American Eagle Foundation, ABC notes.

The eaglets have been temporarily named DC2 and DC3 until the public naming vote takes place within the next few weeks. Their parents are known as "Mr. President" and "The First Lady," and they're the first eagles to nest in the arboretum's tulip poplar tree in nearly 70 years, ABC reports.
