Severe thunderstorm watches issued on the Prairies

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta on Sunday, with another afternoon of showers and storm potential looming.
Mostly centred on southwestern Saskatchewan and southeastern Alberta, forecasters are warning of storms beginning in the afternoon and continuing into the evening.
"2-4 cm of hail and rainfall amounts of 50-75 mm are expected with thunderstorms that develop," Environment Canada warns.
Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm says a passing cold front is likely to trigger storms in those areas.
Otherwise, the region is seeing fair conditions, with temperatures around the seasonal level with minimum humidity.
The Prairie provinces are looking at more non-severe storm risk on Monday also.
Over the mountains, British Columbia is still experiencing hot and dry weather, with storms triggering in the Interior on Saturday night, prompting warnings to be issued in the Boundary area.
As for Sunday, there's a good chance of non-severe storms throughout the interior in the afternoon and evening.
