Baseball size hail, tornado rip across the Prairies: Photos

Friday, June 15, 2018, 9:35 AM - Severe thunderstorms tore across the southern Prairies on Thursday, and they arrived right on time as watches and warnings blossomed over parts of southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba through the afternoon and early evening hours.
Hail the size of baseballs crashed down on one town on the Saskatchewan/North Dakota border, reportedly causing extensive damage to cars and windows. At least one tornado was confirmed near Waskada, Manitoba, in the evening.
"Severe thunderstorms moved into southwestern Manitoba around 4 p.m. CDT," wrote Environment Canada in a weather summery. "By 6:30 p.m. CDT, an intense supercell began to move into the extreme southwestern corner of Manitoba. This thunderstorm tracked across the international border through the evening producing one confirmed tornado around 7:25 p.m. CTD near Waskada."
In the wake of this long-lived cell, as well as separate cells in parts of Manitoba, the ground was left "looking like winter" under piles and piles of hail.
