Stormy weather makes a return to Ontario

It may have been a nearly perfect weekend for parts of Ontario, but the new week is bringing a new threat of thunderstorms.
A system is approaching the area from the southwest. As it advances into the region, there is a threat for storms in places like London and Windsor on Monday afternoon before it makes its way over southern Ontario on Tuesday.
"As the low pressure system approaches, we will see the the threat for storms in southwestern Ontario and along the shores of Lake Huron on Monday afternoon," said Kelly Sonnenburg, meteorologist at The Weather Network.

These numbers are subject to change.
Tuesday afternoon brings the risk of widespread thunder storms to southern Ontario, through Sudbury and cottage country. In fact the risk for showers will begin in the pre-dawn hours into Tuesday morning for southern ONtario and through the Nickel Belt.
The system will then continue it's track east becoming a threat for eastern Ontario and parts of southern Quebec on Wednesday.
As for total rainfall amounts, the information is not too clear just yet.
"Forecast models have had a hard time agreeing on the impact of the storm but 20 to 30 millimeters of rain are possible for Toronto," Sonnenburg said. "Thunderstorms could bring additional rainfall."

This system will start moving into parts of eastern Ontario, including Ottawa, Tuesday afternoon -- and will continue to push east in through southern parts o Quebec Wednesday, before making its way to the Maritimes Thursday. "Rainfall amounts remain uncertain at this time as the system is still a few days away," adds Sonnenburg. "At this time, forecasts suggest places in eastern Ontario could see up to 50 mm of rain."
