Sunday, December 13, 2015, 1:35 PM - Evidently it is not a good idea to park a train on a bridge in windy weather, according to pictures released by Texas authorities.

The Lufkin Police Department posted pictures on Facebook showing dozens of railway cars blown off the tracks by strong winds of 64 km/h.

"[Texas Department of Transportation] says it will take hours to upright 64 rail cars blown off the tracks at Loop 287 near U.S. 69 north earlier this morning," the police department said early Sunday. "The roadway is blocked and it is unknown at this time when the scene will be cleared."

The department says the incident happened around 7 a.m. No one was injured, as the cars were parked and unoccupied at the time.

The strong winds came as part of a system that has left thousands of people without power in Texas, and produced at least two tornadoes.

One twister, in the state's northeast, is responsible for damaging around 50 homes in the community of Lindale. No injuries were reported, but the town's mayor has declared a disaster.

More tornadoes are possible in the state Sunday, according to NBC News.
