A pair of feathery friends quickly turned into pests when they picked the spot for their home-- right in front of a traffic camera in Maryland.

And they had no intentions of moving either.

"This time of the year ospreys fairly regularly choose wacky places to build nests," says biologist Jonathan McKnight.

First they built a nest then Maryland Transportation Authority workers tore it down. The birds rebuilt, the workers removed.

The approval for removing came from the Fish and Wildlife ministry since no eggs had yet been laid.

One Washington DC TV station followed everything live and the transportation authority even gave the birds names.

"The adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," they said.

The transportation authority built the pair a new home and the platform was placed about 10 feet away from the latest camera they were blocking.
