Talk about close call!
Texan Tucker K. Owings is used to getting the 'big catch', but what the fisherman ended up catching on Sunday could have nearly killed him.
Owings was on his daily fishing run, when a fast-moving storm rolled over Lake Athens, located just southeast of Dallas, Texas. Camera in hand, Owings caught what could have been the last :06 seconds of his life -- multiple lightning strikes just narrowly missing his boat.
Owings posted the original video on his Facebook page. The video has already garnered almost 6000 likes.
As spectacular as the footage looks, Owings is lucky to have made it back to land unharmed. Had the storm been moving slightly faster, there's no telling what his fate would have been.
He told KPHO that in the moments before the lightning struck, "We were literally feeling what I would describe as static on our rods. At that point we quickly started to head to the ramp."
"I am one of the youngest professionals in the fishing industry and just learned a very important lesson," Owings added. "I am thankful God protected us."
